Anya Hindmarch: Out Of This World Show
Silent continue their relationship with Anya Hindmarch, creating projection content and music composition for her SS14 show – an ethereal aerial performance that Vogue described as ‘Cirque du Soleil for handbags’.
Beginning as a seemingly typical runway show, normality ceased as the space morphed into a planetarium with bags hovering over models before floating up beyond reach. Giant domed puffer spheres were filled with bespoke visuals created by Silent, evolving from planets to ‘Anya planets’ which showed the textures of the bags, from lapis to malachite. High-speed footage created by Silent featured the designer’s key bags floating weightlessly in space. And in a spellbinding finale two models floated up above the catwalk, space-walking in pursuit of their escaping bags. The completely original soundtrack was epic, elegant and suitably spacey. Beginning with robotic and angular electronics it gradually evolved into a lush, floating classical piece, encompassing recorded live strings, horns and vocals.
