Finlandia: Toasts — Silent Studios

Created with Wieden+Kennedy London, the ‘Toasts’ campaign is the embodiment of a shared special occasion, when you want to make a special toast with a drink that’s worthy. The art direction is inspired by the symmetry and geometry of snowflakes and uses a unique kaleidocycle effect to give a fresh perspective on the festive toast moment.

In-camera kaleidoscopes

The live-action scenes are meticulously composed frames, creating in-camera, kaleidoscopic motifs rooted in the physical world.

The Kaleidocycle

The gif below shows how you can take 8 perfectly rigid regular tetrahedra and connect them along their edges to form a ring that you can turn inside-out. This is called a kaleidocycle, and you can actually form a kaleidocycle with any even number of tetrahedra, as long as you have at least 8.
