British Fashion Awards: 2012

In 2012, Silent designed the British Fashion Awards for the third consecutive year. We established an evocative conceptual framework for the project, drawing from the philosophy that beauty is the key component of the aesthetic experience. The installation took the form of a large-scale, audio-responsive sculpture: a single, stunning rose.

Through the pioneering use of projection gauze (invisible until projected onto), LED batons and steel, the organic beauty of the rose was transformed into a dramatic industrial centre piece, which came to life with Silent's sound design.

Morphing and pulsing with high speed cinematography, the team froze flowers in liquid nitrogen and shattered them in slow motion. The show culminated in an explosion of rose 'shards', an atmospheric cacophony of sound and light.
